The
most famous member of the Impreza
family is, without a doubt, the performance-oriented
WRX, a turbocharged dynamo that can
blow the doors off of vehicles costing
thousands more. But the other Impreza
siblings, the 2.5 RS and Outback
Sport, are no slackers.
All Imprezas come in
a choice of sedan or wagon body styles.
Each model has its niche: the WRX
specializes in performance, the Outback
Sport is the rugged version and the
RS fits the need for a sporty everyday
ride.
The RS is simplistically
attractive inside, and has a better-than-average
array of standard features, including
power locks, windows and mirrors
and alloy wheels. And while it won’t
deliver the all-out performance of
the WRX, a respectable 165 horses
and exceptional handling make the
RS more fun than your run-of-the-mill
small sedan or wagon.
Thank Subaru
for the sport-tuned suspension and
all-wheel drive that make it so.
Add to that the Insurance Institute
for Highway Safety’s designation
as a Best Pick, and the Impreza is
a clear winner.
