AAA Members Saved More than $2.1 Billion Last Year
Using Club-Arranged Discounts
Annual savings survey expands to include all AAA discounts
Helena, Mont. 3/26/09 – AAA discounts, including those available via the organization’s Show Your Card and Save® program, saved AAA members more than $2.1 billion in 2008. Members that used the discounts had an average savings of $101 during the year. AAA members saved on everything from hotels and restaurants to home electronics and prescription drugs and much more. The average savings alone more than offset the cost of a typical AAA club membership.
For the first time, the annual survey was expanded to ask members about the savings they received from AAA’s entire portfolio of discounts including AAA’s Show Your Card & Save program, AAA Travel, AAA Financial Services and AAA Automotive Services. Utilizing the benefits of membership, AAA members can save on thousands of products and services from hotels and restaurants to auto repair and gas rebates.
“In the current economic climate, taking advantage of discounts is a necessity for many families,” said Denice Harris, AAA Spokeswoman. “We are pleased to know that our members are taking advantage of the great savings we have negotiated for them to help ease the strain in household budgets.”
